Motonaga Sadamasa, an artist of the Gutai Art movement, painted stones he found on the roadside and arranged them to create artworks. Indeed, when painted, the stones, each with a different shape, size and color, quickly transform into works of art with a mysterious power. If you change your perspective a little and look at your daily life, you will notice that the seeds of art are here and there. In addition, on Culture Day, November 11rd (Tuesday, national holiday), we will be holding another workshop to make badges. You will also be able to see works created by Isobe Yukihisa in the 3s.

One of the artists in the special exhibition "Gutaijin in Karuizawa"
A workshop related to the work of Sadamasa Motonaga called "Let's paint stones"
The event was held on October 31st and November 1st.
I was surprised to find that stone painting was more popular than I expected among elementary school boys.
There are various shapes and colors of stones, such as round stones, rough stones, striped stones, etc. From these fascinating stones, children chose their favorite one, mixed their favorite colors, painted it, and finished it into a magical stone.
Also, on November 3rd, "Let's make a patch"
There were some wonderful works of art. There were also some local elementary school students who participated and experienced both stone painting and patch making. They were engrossed in making the works.
This was also a heart-warming experience. Thank you to everyone who participated.
