On July 2017th and 7th, 8, we will be holding a workshop called "Let's Make Space Creatures" as a related project to the "Art is Science" exhibition. You will view the works of Yoichiro Kawaguchi, an artist featured in this exhibition who has presented works inspired by space, ancient creatures, and marine life, and then use paper clay to create creatures that you would like to have as space friends.

REPORT
This is an opportunity for you to experience the worldview of artist Yoichiro Kawaguchi, who is currently participating in the exhibition "Art is Science" on the second floor.
The children were asked to imagine what kind of companions they would want if they were to go into space, and then make them out of paper clay.
After getting the children familiar with Kawaguchi-sensei's characters through a story reading of the picture book "Eggy and the Land of Growth,"
After looking at the actual works on the second floor, participants will be able to expand on their ideas for space creatures. Then, they can start creating!
Finally, when the work is completed, it is given a title and placed on the space stage for a commemorative photo.
Each participant used their own imagination to create characters from a mysterious otherworldly world.
