This year, Karuizawa New Art Museum will be participating in the 14th Fureai Festival!
This year, in honor of Tetsuo Mizutani, a familiar figure in our museum's exhibits, we will be making badges using the design of the international signal flags. You can create a one-of-a-kind design by combining your own name or any letters you like with different colors.
Everyone, please come and join us at the Fureai Festival!
Please note that if you show this badge at the reception desk, you will receive a discount on the admission fee for the exhibition "Ever-Evolving Worldwide Asian Artists Right Now !," which starts on Saturday, October sixth. We look forward to seeing you there.

14th Fureai Festival Workshop
REPORT
Perhaps it was the calm before the storm, or perhaps the clear skies, but there were more participants than we expected, and the booth at the Karuizawa New Art Museum was always full, and before we knew it, we had exceeded a hundred people in just two hours! Before we knew it, we ran out of materials for the original badge making event, and we were forced to end it.
This year, we were blessed with more than 3 volunteers, ranging from third grade elementary school students to members of the Karuizawa Junior High School art club, and even town welfare officers, who all worked together to make the event a town festival.
We were also approached by many regular attendees of KaNAM workshops, which made us realise the significance of the museum's participation.
If you present this handmade badge at the museum reception, you will be able to enter the second part of the exhibition "Ever-Evolving Worldwide Asian Artists Right Now !" (from October sixth) for free for junior high school students and younger, and for three hundred yen discount for high school and university students, seniors and adults.
We hope that this will be an opportunity for local people to visit our next exhibition as well.
