This is a related workshop to celebrate the opening of Kazuharu Hanada's exhibition "Color and Form, Humor and Poetry," which starts on November 11th. After viewing Hanada's works, participants will create their own original badge designs using origami. Born in Hokkaido and raised in Sapporo, Kazuharu Hanada has drawn his own unique worldview from the colorful and humorous scenery of his hometown, such as "Distant Mountains," "Two Stars," and "Hills and the Sea." This workshop is an attempt to pack Hanada's colorful world into a badge the size of which can be worn (specifically, by layout and design). Anyone who can cut and paste with scissors and glue is welcome to participate.

REPORT

The top left photo shows badges made from origami with the themes of "In the sky" (right) and "Full moon with stars" (left)!
On Sunday, November 11th, we held the event "See the Kazuharu Hanada Exhibition and Make Your Own Original Badge."
The badge-making workshop was previously held by a different artist and was a popular event at Karuizawa Town's Fureai Festival.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, it was difficult to gather in large numbers, but local people and people acquaintances of Hanada came to visit.

First, you will be guided around the exhibition for about an hour and have the opportunity to take photos of your favorite works.
Next, while looking at the picture, select the origami paper that you think will be necessary for the original design on the badge backing, cut it into small pieces, and decide on the location.
I'll paste it.
Finally, cut it into a circle along the outer dotted line and place it in the badge machine.
That's it.

The full workshop lasted about an hour and a half. Thanks to the ample time we had to spend appreciating the works,
In the end, they seemed to grow attached to the badges and went home looking very happy wearing them.

The Hanada exhibition is a big hit! It's a fun-filled exhibition!
I made a sample. Cut the dotted line from here and put it in the machine. From the left, "Near Sankakuyama", "Apron", and "Wave -3".
There were also participants who used the Demon Slayer theme. The children were quicker and at a higher level.
