[February only! MUSEUM event successfully completed]
Live performances and workshops titled "Unravelling the World of Hanada Kazuharu through Sand Art" were held every Saturday for a total of four days from February 2th (Sat) to the 6th (Sat).
The performance of sand art by Funamoto-san, representative of the artist group SILT, and Anji Anjyu, accompanied by live violin music, was overwhelming. The transience and dynamism of the sand art, which can only be understood by those who experience it up close, was a mysterious live experience that even evoked emotions. After this, a sand art workshop followed.
This event was held free of charge every Saturday in February, and the museum was bustling with visitors of all ages, from local children to adults, an unusually large number for February.

This time, at the exhibition of "Kazuji Hanada" (11-1946), a Hokkaido-born painter who is not well known in the Kanto region, which started last November, the young art group SILT created a sand art animation in response to Hanada's work, and a video work was exhibited in each exhibition room on the second floor of the museum.
While it might seem like their styles are incompatible, by presenting Hanada's paintings together with their own unique interpretations of his animation works, Hanada's worldview seemed to emerge more realistically, resulting in a positive interaction.

This past month made me feel that if we could continue to actively plan collaborative projects between artists in the future, we would be able to attract the interest of even more viewers.
Despite the short preparation time, this event was a success thanks to the cooperation of many people.
